At the end of the day the same problem is always going to be there: Islam. Even "moderate" Muslims sympathize with terrorists. ISIS may be unique in that it goes so far that even these Muslims won't support it, but it's all the same in the end. I have known a lot of Muslims over the years and all but one showed some sympathy for terrorism. One of them is someone who you'd never even expect to be that way since he was born here and he is indistinguishable from the typical American, loves rap music, and all in all seems completely American in every respect. Ask him though about some of the world issues and he will tell you that the whole world is the problem and they are out to kill Muslims. Muslims see themselves as the victims, and they ultimately believe everyone needs to convert to Islam.

The western world has two choices the way I see it:
1. Wipe out the organizations that pop up as needed and essentially quarantine areas affected by Islam. Save those who are not of the faith and relocate them as needed. Then let the different Islamic factions fight it out. Meanwhile at home, start mass deportations of anyone thought to be sympathizers and significantly restrict anyone coming from those countries. It's no surprise how many people are joining ISIS from the West given the outright tolerance shown in our society.

2. Mass annihilation of anyone who sympathizes with or displays the ideology. The problem is that there is really no such thing as a moderate Muslim. They do exist, but they are few and far between, and they tend to get slaughtered if they ever speak up. People seem to forget how many people died in WW2 in order to bring Japan and Germany to its knees. We live in an age of smart bombs and every time there is a civilian casualty there is this huge debate and outrage. Only when faced with complete annihilation will it be possible to change that part of the world. Nation building is one of the dumbest things ever thought up by the neo-cons. Until we are willing to start dropping bombs on places like Qatar and Saudi Arabia and other places that are supporting their own little factions behind the scenes, we will forever be caught in the middle of proxy wars.
