If nobody knew the name of the police officer who shot Brown then your comparison would be valid. Instead, the police know the name of the officer, and the suspicion is that they won't properly investigate the shooting - hence the protest. I am amazed that even you can't see the difference between Brown's shooting and the assaults committed by the looter(s).

From over here in the UK it is very weird to see the full militarisation of the police in the US. How often do American police actually need to use armoured personnel carriers, drones and machine guns? You want the police as people you can come to for protection rather than hide way from because they're pelleting you with baton rounds.
