Uh. We have snowfall of >5 feet a year. I would love to see the weedwhacker model cope.
Sheesh. Suburbanite doesn't have a clue.

So rah, what was it like buying the first coal powered snowblower? Was it built by Henry Ford?

One quick question ben.
Is it your assumption that it was the drug dealer that stole the snow blower and other stuff?
Or do you believe a pot smoker stole it and the drug dealer was his fence?

Remember, I wasn't there. I was in college. The dealer was the younger brother of my 2nd closest friend. He knew our family well, and I had invited him over with his brother a few times to the house prior to the theft.
His brother, and my friends, most of the folks I knew were getting their pot from him. He had offered to sell to me several times, and I'd turned him down. I had, (while I was there that summer), finally decided that we couldn't play anymore at my house because they insisted on using pot and weren't willing to respect house rules.
I found out later the younger brother had offered it to both my younger brothers as well. Gratis, of course for the sample. That was not something I had known until my father spoke to me. Their pot use had already become an issue.
Rah- these were my two closest friends. We had been friends for a long long time, and both had decided that they wanted to hang around and smoke pot all day. I had to work. I'd have been fired and I had to be careful when I did visit them to wash the smell out of my clothes.
I was already 'connected' with the drug scene in a sense. There had been multiple thefts, and one from the same dealer cost the friendship between my other two friends. They have still not, to this day reconciled. I am not precisely sure what was stolen, I was informed when I returned from the summer, that we couldn't simply hang out together as we had for 10+ years previous because they were not welcome in the other friends house. I was, they were not.
The same with my family as well.
From what my father told me about the snowblower - it had been in storage for the summer. The neighborhood was a very good one, but the rash of thefts had gotten folks concerned. It wasn't just my father, it was other people down the street too. Well, he had his blower stolen and he said he found it in the yard of my 2nd best friend, where the younger brother was staying at the time. He went to get it back but it was gone by the time he returned.
Knowing the dealer (the kid was an idiot) - trust me on this one, I know the guy. I believe he stole from my father to either go and buy more drugs to sell ( to raise capital). I know for a fact he stole while he was in the house (but not the jewelery), that came later.
Could it have been because none of us were customers (when so many of the folks in his 'territory' were?) It's possible, but I think it's more likely he just saw an opportunity since he knew us and the house and knew when my parents would be away and knew I was away.
I believe the dealer had access to a good fence (like I said, we weren't the only theft).
This is partially why I am not a fan of pot. I basically lost my two best friends over it. We have became friends again now - but only because they both realized that pot wasn't helping and they are clean again. I didn't make it an issue - but none of them wanted to hang around unless they could smoke pot, and again, it wasn't allowed when I was at my parent's place.

I still don't think I got and answer to my original question, Your description wasn't very clear.
Is it your assumption that it was the drug dealer that stole the snow blower and other stuff?
Or do you believe a pot smoker stole it and the drug dealer was his fence?
And never say "trust me" because like almost everyone else at this site, I don't and probably never will.

Yeah, that was the conclusion my father came to as well. I know the dealer, and I realize it's not the smartest thing for the dealer to do (as well as getting high on your own stash), but I'm telling you, rah, this dude was not the brightest tool in the shop.

Ok, I just wanted to verify that your bias against all pot smokers is based on your assumptions about an atypical one. (which by your own admissions is assumptions and no concrete proof)
Don't you think it's a tad unfair to paint all pot smokers with the same brush. I've know quite a few tokers over my life and only one of them ever stole anything.
And you'd be surprised how many of them are considered outstanding members of the community. (i have known many hard drug users that did steal but we're not discussing them)
It would be similar to me hating all Catholics because of you. I know too many good Catholics to let you color my view of the rest.

Ok, I just wanted to verify that your bias against all pot smokers is based on your assumptions about an atypical one.
It's based on a known dealer who attempted to sell to me and my younger brothers (which is not cool in my book), it's based on dealing with two of my closest friends and their addiction, it's based on dealing with the consequences of this dealer and theft to me and my family. and it's based on reasonable evidence that he stole from my family several times.
That's not prejudice, that's a reasonable response.
Don't you think it's a tad unfair to paint all pot smokers with the same brush.
I'd rather go back to the days pre-pot when we all were able to play together and have fun together. We did many hours of gaming. I miss that.
I've know quite a few tokers over my life and only one of them ever stole anything.
If one had - and stole something that valuable that you'd given to your father to help him do a chore that he particularly hated, would that not affect your opinion?
And you'd be surprised how many of them are considered outstanding members of the community. (i have known many hard drug users that did steal but we're not discussing them)
Again - we're talking my two closest friends, rah. How do you think I felt when they told me that they didn't want to hang if they couldn't smoke?
It would be similar to me hating all Catholics because of you. I know too many good Catholics to let you color my view of the rest.
Did you lose your two best friends because you were Catholic?

Again by your own admission you're biased against all tokers based on your experience with two.
That would be like me hating all blacks because a couple of them stole from me once.
Hate your ex two friends, fine. But don't let that hatred blind you. (which it obviously has based on your posts)
My best friend cheated with my girlfriend once. Which I consider much worse then not wanting to hang out with me. Over time I forgave him and we were friends again before he died. (I was his best man at his wedding) Much better then hating all my friends because one betrayed me once.
Just admit that you have an unfair bias against all tokers because you can't get over the fact that you had a bad experience with just two. Even you know that's too small a sample to judge anything.

He therefore should get himself a tax break for this example of public-mindedness and service. Or perhaps his 'Christian' ethics, so keenly on display in the Ebola thread, could kick in, and he'd see the merit in providing this service free of charge....

If the law states that religion and religious expression is protected then religion must be defined in order to determine what is protected. This way they can avoid scams like the one you're trying to pull.
I'm not pulling anything, pot has been used in religions before the Bible was written and thats true. And you're wrong, once Congress defines religion and bases laws on that definition it has established religion.
And here we go. "Libertarian Berz" Is arguing in favor of sharia law as constitutionally protected in America.
Wow. I hope you like being enslaved to the local imam.
I didn't say Sharia Law was protected, I asked why it was protected by the 1st Amendment if its incompatible with religious freedom. You didn't answer the question. Instead you accused me of claiming Sharia Law was protected. I'd still like an answer, you were so close to stumbling upon the meaning of the free exercise clause of the 1st Amendment.
Odd that, because it destroys your argument.
How so? Why does it matter who Paul murdered? It dont matter to me, your religion was invented by a murderer after he had a nervous breakdown. Put that in your Bob Marley and smoke it.
You haven't yet cited a single reliable source. All you've got is Rasta and Rasta is pot using religion.
"Reliable"? I hadn't realized you discredited my sources, you've been ignoring them this whole time.
You said he was a prophet and that I could find his teachings in his music. Odd that an atheist would abide by the 'prophet Marley'. Or maybe it's the pot talking?
You called him a prophet, not me. You asked where his scriptures might be found and I suggested his music. I believe other Christians also put their religious views into song.
DD is correct, and once again, you're wrong.
No, food stamp recipients are not obliged to eat what you want them to eat. They can buy food and accept the freebies, they dont give up their right to eat food.
You said you couldn't live off of it, but you could live off food. False analogy.
I said pot was food so you asked if I could live off it... How long? I'd live longer with access to pot than without any other food, so it is a food. But I cant live off cake either, not for long anyway, does that mean cake is not food? Does every food cease being food if I cant live off it? And the "analogy" was comparing enumerated rights and unenumerated rights, you said we have only the former, not the latter. Thats when you invented a right to life that includes food but not pot even though pot is food.
Actually it does have the enumerated power to do just this. I've shown you examples from the 1790s under Hamilton as Sec of Treasury.
I know Congress has the power to tax, you said they heavily regulated booze. So naturally you show me where they taxed booze instead of heavy regulation.
nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Thats the 5th Amendment, you told me the right to life was in the 4th Amendment. And there's no mention of a right to life, it says we cant be killed without due process. It also says liberty and property cant be taken without due process. Pot use is both property and liberty, so if this is an enumeration of our right to eat food its also an enumeration of our right to use pot.
Btw, if we do have the enumerated right to eat food, how can you deny that right because of Medicare and food stamps? You said Congress can regulate (or ban) anything that aint enumerated, and you want Congress to decide what we all eat because of Medicare and food stamps, but you're also claiming food is an enumerated right.
