Most of us would be better off learning about it someplace else.

There are plenty of married Catholics out there, but my personal experience is with Scott Hahn. Who *is* married, and used contraception and was married prior to becoming Catholic. He spends quite a bit of time addressing what the Catholic church teaches on marriage and how he believes it helped him in his marriage.

I would agree with you, rah, except I have spoken with folks who are reliable authorities on the matter (far more so than me), and they have spoken at length on it.

Leaving out the whole argument from the magisterium, authority of Christ as God - there you go.

Most Christians (ie, not Rah), actually believe that Christ knows ourselves better than we do. I'm not surprised rah would bring up that terrible argument, because he doesn't believe that Christ is God.

The fact that the Catholic church didn't have English bishops for 300 years is a fact that is not often told. Catholic emancipation from tyranny and oppression did occur, but only after the long dark shadow of the previous centuries.

Bigotry and hatred of Catholicism was so strong that England actually deposed their rightful King simply because he professed the Catholic faith.

These are all facts, btw.
