The letter from the DoubleTree could be real, though redacting the title and/or department of the sender calls that into question. I would question the legitimacy of the alleged telephone threats, however. Why would anyone threaten hotel staff? The credibility factor is right up there with, "Detroit sounds like a great place to attract people to our convention!"

I could be wrong, but frankly, this looks like a rather sad attempt to get some attention and free publicity more than anything else.
