At this point, my stance on guns is purely for spite. The last 20 years, conservatives have tried their damndest to destroy this country... to basically dismantled all the institutions that separate us from third world ****holes (or at the very least, use such rhetoric to obstruct the legislative process because the status quo is profitable for their corporate masters).

They allow themselves to be manipulated by leaders who lie, cheat, and steal... leaders who would otherwise be laughed out of every city hall and state house if they didn't rely on contrived social "issues"... playing upon people's bigotry and ignorance.

... just to prevent everyone from receiving basic services.

So at this point, I'm just like... **** CONSERVATIVES. **** everything they like. **** their hobbies. **** their "culture". **** their "religion" (which they twist and pervert to justify their own sick and demented beliefs).

So yeah... ban guns. Ban country music. Ban driving pick up trucks and eating bad fried chicken from hate mongers. Ban NASCAR. Ban everything they enjoy. Stretch the limits of the constitution as far as it can go. I don't care. They want to use the rule of law to persecute and oppress gays, women, blacks (and everyone else who isn't a WASP)? Fine. Let's use the rule of law to oppress them. Oppress them until all those old white racist ****heads die off.

Then, in a few years, we can get back to responsible governance.
To us, it is the BEAST.

They have a hardon for the constitution, why don't we just ban that?

Eh, I'd rather tackle the underlying motivations behind such things in the first place. Notably, that people reject the 2nd as well as private property ownership. They'd support confiscation if they thought they could get away with it.

Actually, I think raising quality control standards to the point where serving bad fried chicken is cost prohibitive... that's what I'd do. I'd send out food inspectors daily. Issue massive fines until those businesses are out of business.

                  I'm against that, of course.

I did love the rest of the post, mind you.

When people own smart guns only criminals will have smart gun jammers.

Is that what the law said? Did it actually specify where the guns had to be sold in order to trigger the clock? What if I arrange for someone to import the gun and then have him sell it to me privately? That's perfectly legal here in Virginia.

Lawmakers around the country have been intrigued by the possibilities. New Jersey passed a hotly contested law in 2002 requiring that only smart guns be sold in the state within three years of a smart gun being sold anywhere in the country. A similar measure made it through the California Senate last year, and at the federal level, Rep. John F. Tierney (D-Mass.) also has introduced a mandate.

‘We need the iPhone of guns’: Will smart guns transform the gun industry?

                              Text of the law
For the purposes of this section, personalized handguns shall be deemed to be available for retail sales purposes if at least one manufacturer has delivered at least one production model of a personalized handgun to a registered or licensed wholesale or retail dealer in New Jersey or any other state.

Wow... what a stupd law. Why assume the first smartguns on the market won't be crap and force gun stores to only sell them?
