Also, I believe the NBA is leaning towards these actions being a result of a long established history and pattern of behavior, rather than just a bunch racist comments being made public by a vengeful exhookergirlfriend.

Defending a position by citing free speech is the ultimate concession. Doing so is to admit that the most compelling thing one can say about their position is that it's not literally illegal to express.

If I cited privacy would it change your opinion of your matter? If say, Silver had an abortion and Sterling released that information publicly getting her terminated from her job at Hooters, would you see the issue differently?
