          • Today is going to be a long day. Got to work at 7. Went to class. Took linguistics midterm. Came back to work. At work now. Will be leaving soon to go to the university's observatory for a "night lab" that should last about two hours. Then home where I will have to fit in some dinner while doing my astronomy homework due tomorrow. And I also have to waste three hours watching the Cowboys butcher the Redskins. Not sure where that's going to fit in.

            • I have a surprise mandatory work meeting today that means I won't be able to attend my physics class. This is the second week in a row where, because of work things I can't get out of, I haven't been able to go to my Tuesday physics lecture. On top of that, I signed up for a linguistics study today, which is something I have to do as part of my linguistics class. And it's too late to back out of it, which means I'm just going to be a no show. I'd really like to leave work and just not come back. It would mean so much less stress. Until it came time to pay rent. Blarg. Monkeys.

              • I can't believe I've been with the same company for 4.5 years. I've never been with a company this long. And it's been almost 5 years since I last lost a job for some crazy reason (fired due to lack of production/quit due to sudden burst of honesty/asked to leave due to being at the scene of a crime near my place of employment when I was supposed to be at my grandmother's funeral/etc.).

Sorry, had to laugh at that one.

You ever thought that some people have problems with controlling themselves? At least when his brother does it it doesn't manifest itself in the form of hurting other people. It manifests itself in not realising when is a good time to shut your mouth.

The cop in this story acted more antisocially.

                          • A lot. But that was 10 years ago. He's cooled down a bit since then. (Wasn't the last time he was arrested, though). But yeah. When I talk about the fact that I really despise my brother, behavior like that is at the core of why.

                              • Well, 10 years later my brother is happily married, has a business, and is pursuing his doctorate. (But his business is more of a hobby than anything else and doesn't actually make him any money. And whenever things get tough for him financially he "borrows" heavily from my parents and our eldest brother. And the doctorate he's getting is in something stupid like physical therapy. And he's still a jerk.)
