That's not what rah was talking about, and it's not what the thread is about. I'm cool with gay marriage. I personally don't think that the government should have any say in how marriages work, but if it does, it should be liberal about them. I don't know what you're talking about with housing and employment, since that's not really something that makes any sense. I've never seen a job application that asked if I was gay. None of my landlords have ever asked me (and I've certainly lived with other men). I've seen plenty of job applications that ask about my criminal record and that test for drug use. So maybe you're confusing the discrimination I face with what you face.

It's a question of priorities. If wedding cakes matter more to you than hundreds of thousands of people in prison, it shows me that you lack perspective.



Because your solution doesn't seem directed at the problem. What does high school bullying have to do with wedding cakes? Unless you want to take a holistic approach, which would essentially turn America into a police state where nobody is allowed to say anything mean to anybody else ever.

Hundreds of thousands of people are in federal and state prisons for drug offences. Hundreds of thousands more are on parole and probation. Millions more have drug charges on their records. All of these people will have more trouble getting a job or renting an apartment than MrFun will ever have trying to buy a wedding cake.

The suicide rate doesn't seem to be higher among gays. It's higher among men, in general, regardless of sexual orientation.

Felch, I could play the victim for being ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, but that would be equally stupid. Seatbelt laws are not hostile towards people who don't like to wear seatbelts. If you get a ticket that's good, maybe you will wear a seatbelt next time.

Right or wrong seatbelt laws encourage people to wear seatbelts just like pot laws discourage people from smoking pot. Now if you smoked crack you would be discriminated against. Do you smoke crack?
