As we've gone through this before already, gay people ARE already second class citizens when it comes to marriage, housing, and employment in half or almost half of the states in America.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

That's not what rah was talking about, and it's not what the thread is about. I'm cool with gay marriage. I personally don't think that the government should have any say in how marriages work, but if it does, it should be liberal about them. I don't know what you're talking about with housing and employment, since that's not really something that makes any sense. I've never seen a job application that asked if I was gay. None of my landlords have ever asked me (and I've certainly lived with other men). I've seen plenty of job applications that ask about my criminal record and that test for drug use. So maybe you're confusing the discrimination I face with what you face.Originally posted by MrFun View PostAs we've gone through this before already, gay people ARE already second class citizens when it comes to marriage, housing, and employment in half or almost half of the states in America.John Brown did nothing wrong.

We have a winner! Close thread.Originally posted by Felch View PostIt's a question of priorities. If wedding cakes matter more to you than hundreds of thousands of people in prison, it shows me that you lack perspective.

Because your solution doesn't seem directed at the problem. What does high school bullying have to do with wedding cakes? Unless you want to take a holistic approach, which would essentially turn America into a police state where nobody is allowed to say anything mean to anybody else ever.I drank beer. I like beer. You just reached MrFun level of playing the victim.Originally posted by Felch View PostPrisoners in 2012 (pdf)

Hundreds of thousands of people are in federal and state prisons for drug offences. Hundreds of thousands more are on parole and probation. Millions more have drug charges on their records. All of these people will have more trouble getting a job or renting an apartment than MrFun will ever have trying to buy a wedding cake.

You think gays have it worse than potheads? There's a difference between "rednecks are mean to me" and "the government wants to incarcerate me." Anybody who can't grasp that is a worthless piece of ****.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

The suicide rate doesn't seem to be higher among gays. It's higher among men, in general, regardless of sexual orientation.Originally posted by 100% Wolf View PostDo you think there are more gay teenagers committing suicide because society hates homosexuality or more people committing suicide because they're not allowed to smoke pot?I drank beer. Please post were I said you should always follow the law. Hmm, you can't because you made that up like most things you post.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostNot according to rah. Felch, I could play the victim for being ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, but that would be equally stupid. Seatbelt laws are not hostile towards people who don't like to wear seatbelts. If you get a ticket that's good, maybe you will wear a seatbelt next time.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

Right or wrong seatbelt laws encourage people to wear seatbelts just like pot laws discourage people from smoking pot. Now if you smoked crack you would be discriminated against. Do you smoke crack?Originally posted by Felch View PostSeatbelt laws are ****. The government has no business punishing people for being stupid. Stupidity is punishment enough.I drank beer. Please post were I said you should always follow the law.Why is it a big difference if you believe that pot shouldn't be illegal unless you believe that laws should be followed?Smoking pot is illegal.
 Being gay is not.

And I don't follow that law. What's your point? Oh right, you couldn't find a post where I said you should always follow the law.

But while I don't think people should be arrested for pot I don't think you can consider it discrimination if you are. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
