What I doubt is that it has something with changing views of masculinity; and if it does have something to do with that, I wonder if changing views of masculinity are a good thing, since the suicide rate is trending down in the last 20 years.

Expression, empathy, feelings never were an exclusively feminine thing, until recently. Now to suggest that young men should experience these things is making them girls and is somehow anti-masculine.
