  • Life support forced on pregnant woman

Hmmmm, I suppose forced organ donation will be next. I think this is some seriously ****ed up ****, even for Texas. Ghastly: http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/tex...200600388.html

Did the unborn child consent to being taken off the ventilator?

It sounds like the fetus is still alive. If so, how would killing it make the situation better? The mother is vegetative and unable to suffer. Once the child is sufficiently developed to be delivered, then the living will can be executed. Until then the will is voided by statute, and therefore irrelevant.

No. But it's still messed up. Couldn't it be that God's plan was for them both to die and His will is being subverted?

Then He'd cut the power Himself. You can't subvert the Almighty.

I could see a law protecting unborn children of a certain stage of development. It should naturally align to abortion laws, since it's a very similar situation (wish of mother vs protection of unborn child).

(BTW ... I wouldn't mind seeing mandatory organ donation as a requirement for citizenship, or taxes designed to heavily promote organ donation. Letting people die so your organs can rot in a coffin is an affront to humanity.)

So abortion is a-okay. Glad that's settled then.

Women are seen as fetus incubation chambers and not people with rights.

There is no god. So again, how does killing the fetus make the situation better? The mother is vegetative and unable to suffer. Once the child is sufficiently developed to be delivered, then the living will can be executed.

How does your continued existence make any situation better? It doesn't.

The child is probably brain damaged and retarded from oxygen deprivation anyway.

The situation will be better for whoever is paying for all this.
