My argument is that facts are inherently objective irrespective of who expresses them. Is it a fact that the Catholic church has essential beliefs? Yes. Is it a fact that expressing opposition to essential Catholic beliefs means that you are no longer a Catholic in good standing? Also true.

You stated, "I've never questioned the beliefs of the Church". This is false. I have and did. I was a member of a mennonite church. I came over after 2 years of studying the Church and coming to the conclusion that I was wrong and the Church was correct.

Let's be honest though. A&E is going to end their "suspension" when the new season airs. Or, at most, push the first airing a week back.

This entire hubbub also, interestingly enough, happens a week before Christmas and tons of right-wing Christians are trying to buy up as much Duck Dynasty stuff they can to support Robertson. I'm better A&E knows exactly what they are doing right now - pretending to be shocked will net them some good cash.

Here is the bottom line:

People can believe whatever they will, but must treat others according to the rule of law (at a minimum).

People should never be "suspended" for what they believe...only what they do. Robertson did not talk about his beliefs in the context of his employer and should not be relieved of his job.
