For some it's a choice in as much as behaviour learned as a child and young adult along with the shape the body becomes accustomed to and resists changing is a 'choice.'
I don't think we accept that childrens' 'choices' get to count as choices in a free will argument, do we?
And then there's the added bonus of the American diet of fast food with highly processed carbs and added transfat now with MORE HFCS (just for your, grib).(\__/)

Obesity is a symptom. It's not the disease.
It's what happens on a mass scale when you force feed 330 million people a fast food diet.
