I didn't even comment on it. I just posted, "I saw this on the 4th floor of Wean" and my fellow classmates are doing all the work of tearing him to shreds

Face it Asher. You wanna make a dig at me because you're butthurt over the fact that we absolutely destroyed your ridiculous touchscreen company's marketing in the other thread, and you thought this'd be an opportunity. But it's not.
I'm sorry, I can't follow your logic here.

I'm butthurt because you made a fool out of yourself in the other thread? You knew nothing you were talking about, got schooled, and somehow think your dumbass comments without any reality to back them up constituted "destruction"?

I'm making a ton of money off my "ridiculous touchscreen company" via options (stock is up 87% this year) in addition to salary and bonuses. You're a student who gets off making fun of professors.

    You really schooled me!

I agree completely. Really, all you're doing is helping him spread the word about our government's atrocities.

You don't understand what you did wrong here. Which is not unexpected.

The problem isn't that you're making someone's stupidity more public when it's already public.

The problem is you are mocking a senior member of your school and department's faculty. You may get a couple snickers from classmates, but the other side is you may get into some trouble from your school (this kind of stuff happens a lot), it can get your name out there amongst professors as someone who lacks respect for professors (which won't help you if you want to get into grad school, or help you get good grades), and it makes you look like a child (which won't help you get laid).

Critical analysis of the situation shows the potential cons vastly outweigh any potential pros.

Ergo, it was a stupid thing to do.

Very good chance none of it will happen. But there's a chance it will. Since there's no pro at all really, cons still outweigh the pros.

BTW, a student did something similar here the other year and it turned into a massive cluster****. The school censured the student for the Facebook post, the student took the school to court and won (freedom of speech) but generated lots of press in the process, but now any employer googling the student's name will see he's a ****wad.

He also thought he was being very clever.

I somehow doubt the kid's facebook post was a picture of a sign posted in public?

                        Close!

                        They posted:
“I no longer fear Hell, I took a course with Aruna Mitra
                        and
“Somehow I think she just got lazy and gave everybody a 65. That’s what I got.”
                        and
“Remember when she told us she was a long-term professor? Well actually she was only sessional and picked up our class at the last moment because another prof wasn’t able to do it . . . Lucky us.”

HC's post is actually a bit more personally insulting than their comments, so you are correct. Their comments were about the efficacy of the teaching, and HC's is about how the prof lacks critical thinking skills.
This is just depressing. Aren't professors supposed to have critical thinking skills?

What's the insult here? All HC is doing is helping him spread the word about how the official story about what happened on 9/11 doesn't add up.

Wait a minute, could quoting someone be considered an insult?
