And single payer is bad because it isn't a Singapore-style system.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

    • Would rather have obamacare than single payer because it's easier to chip away at it. Ultimately individual insurance will cease to exist and the employer mandate is just going to keep getting kicked down the road so it won't really do anything.

      • Radio just reported that first week Obamacare completions amounted to 51,000.
In only 16 years Obama will have registered everyone who was uninsured!

        • Holy ****; the Obamacare launch has been so terrible that even Ezra Klein won't defend it. On MSNBC...

Come defend it for me, Oerdin. You're my only hope.

          • If Ezra Klein isn't tooting Obama's horn, things are grim indeed. He's smart but also the ultimate apologist.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

              • I love how our wing nuts are pretending that the ACA website is the only way to sign up when literally every state has their own website so it is redundant to begin with not to mention you can also sign up by filling out a form and mailing it back or by calling a toll free number. I guess facts don't matter though to people who just want to complain. Over all its still better than the launch of most new tech items from large companies like Apple or HP or Samsung.

                • OIAW. Many states didn't set up their own exchanges and residents of those states are therefore reliant on the ACA website, which doesn't work, to access the federal exchanges.

You can still fill out a paper form and mail it in or call.

Also, if a state is too lazy to set up their own exchange than that's their problem. If you don't like the way the feds are running it then stop being lazy and set up your own like the non-craphole states have done.

Which is meaningless because if people are filing for expanded medicaid or even just the subsidies even after they've filled out the application online they still have to submit proof of state residency, proof of income, and possibly proof of citizenship. That means after they fill out the online portion papers will be mailed to them and they'll have to mail back the requested paperwork then have that paperwork processed. So the numbers aren't surprising given that most people are probably in the waiting for stuff to be mailed to them phase.
