Are people with high school diplomas adequately prepared? I doubt it.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention, I have even less sympathy if you voted for Obama.

Clearly they're willing to be teachers for "little" money, which from where I'm standing actually looks like a lot of money for only 9 months of work.
Thats because you're a socially isolated, ignorant, inexperienced ******.

Teachers pay for ongoing required education out of pocket. You work 10 hour days 5 days a week AT LEAST. 3 months off is not 3 months of do whatever you want vacation time.

There are forces in play that you dont care about like the requirements to be a teacher and remain a teacher but then you say "eh, thats enough money, they should shut up"

Seriously, both you and HC hate hate hate when people complain about anything at all and I dont know why. Why do you hate it so much that people want to change the status quo so there arent competing incentives and chimera opportunities?

If someone was on fire you'd both tell them to make a better choice not to catch on fire next time.

Unless they were a rich white republican, then you'd ask "what pencil dick liberal arts major set you on fire you poor poor man"

That you use the word charity in such an uncharitable and incorrect way makes me think there is a deeper root to your hatred of anything that isnt your life.

Bull**** if someone was on fire I'd break out marshmallows

You can change the status quo by-- gee whiz--moving or getting a job or doing something yourself to improve your own situation, instead of trying to make the government make everything happen by magic and make other people make your life better for you. It's the death of personal responsibility that makes me angry.

That's great. How much math did the kids learn while you babysat them?

Probably a lot more than they would learn in the Washington D.C. or Detroit public schools

The entire purpose of government is to make the lives of the citizenry better. I know YOU don't look at that way but thats why you're dead set on destroying it instead of changing it. Because in your world your options are "move or doing something yourself".

Also, i love that your ideas are move or get a job. Again try and think of scenarios beyond your facile understanding of life.
