Would the state of Texas allow, no, I dare say mandate, that I shoot the store manager for this theft?
Hopefully. The ******* at Barnes and Noble stole from you.

If I lived in Texas what do you think is the chance that I would get away with it like this guy did?

I don't really know anything about Craigslist. Did she work for an escort service or was she a freelancer? If she was on Craigslist does that mean she came recommended by former customers?

Craigslist has legitimate aspects, but it (like the rest of the net) has those that will exploit it. I wouldn't want to give my address out to have someone come over, for instance.

As far as Texas and using a firearm, if you're charged with a crime and are using a firearm, the firearm charge is stand alone and a felony charge.

Dr. S., she had a pimp so my guess is she was an actual hooker and not an escort. The craigslist whores don't work for any agency.

Was there an actual driver, or did she just say that she had one? Maybe this guy was making her feel uncomfortable so she said that to make him think that she had someone with her. Anyway, generally someone who hires a prostitute is just as guilty as the prostitute. In fact in some places the "johns" are punished more harshly than the prostitutes. Surely this law is not designed to protect criminals? If someone refuses to pay their drug dealer, can the drug dealer now kill the miscreant without fear of penalty? Who knows, the law may even protect a pimp who punishes his girl for not giving up the proceeds of her labors. Oh, hey, what if a cashier at a grocery store comes up short in the till at the end of her night shift? Is the manager now permitted to use deadly force to make her balance?

He never shot her in the back. Part of the bullet was found in the wheel well. Part of it shattered and went into her back, through the car.

So she was in the car and he fired at her? Was there actually a driver, or was she driving? What kind of a pimp wouldn't shoot back?
