BK, you can't pick and choose which policies you disapprove of and say RAWROBAMA.
Opposition to abortion isn't *picking and choosing*.

There is zero authority for the federal government per the constitution to provide taxpayer funding for abortion.

I think the Federal government should be required to actually obey the constitution of the United States.

Jesus said pay your taxes. Obey the law.
Jesus said to disobey an unjust law.

If you disapprove, work within the system to change it.
Show me where I am required, by the constitution to provide funding for abortion and that abortion is required to be funded by the federal government.

But don't pretend that it's okay to not pay taxes or obey the law. That goes against teachings.
I'm saying that the government has laws which restrict what the government can do. Those laws specifically exclude abusing the taxation power to fund abortion.

And don't quibble about "one tenth" this or that. There are enough quotes to show that Jesus said taxes are fine... as a concept... no specifics.
He specifically said, "render unto Caesar". Caesar has no authority in forcing a Christian to participate in abortion. That is God's domain, not Caesar's. We are explicitly not to render to Caesar that which is God's. Nor, participate in things which violate our freedom of conscience per the first amendment, and freedom of religion.

If you worry about certain tax rates or income versus sales, you are playing the fundamentalist and not the Christian.
I believe the government should serve the people not the people the government. Actually, I'm playing the constitution as it is explicitly worded.

Yes it is. Abortion is a very recent modern phenomenon. It's not mentioned in the Bible. You seemed so intent on the "letter of the law" with regards to taxes. Well, show me the word "abortion" in the Bible.

Look... you even do it in the same post!

      He specifically said
So yeah. Stop trying to have it both ways.

Here's the real truth about how you use religion:

      I believe
Your God is in the mirror.
To us, it is the BEAST.

If I can prove to you that this is false, will you agree with me in opposing taxpayer funded abortion? Abortion is not novel. Taxpayer funded abortion is.

The difference between the same star at A and G is simply one of age. Stellar 'evolution' is a misnomer. The star isn't transforming it's nature, it's simple getting older.
That's what you say. Have you ever seen a star go from A to G?

The idea that monkeys turned into humans is so mind numbingly stupid that it would indeed involve an article of faith. Good thing that no evolutionists think anything of the sort.

Your broader point about not believing anything that we haven't seen happen however deserves it's own response. None of us have ever seen you repeatedly and deliberately bang your own head into a table. I therefore do not believe this would hurt you in any way. Please test this hypothesis.

I like the title of this thread. Next time I make a new one I won't try to make it snappy, but use a full blown sentence as well.

False. It was quite common in the ancient world--one of my college professors mentioned a plant popular among the ancient Romans for inducing miscarriage, which supposedly went extinct from over-harvesting. I believe it's proscribed by the Didache, which is first or second century. You can also, with little effort, dig up a dozen or so first-milennium quotes by clergymen denouncing the practice. IIRC even Augustine mentioned the practice.

That's what you say. Have you ever seen a star go from A to G?
We have external evidence showing the length of time that would take is about 100 million years.

We can look at a certain yellow star and predict how long it would take to move down a classification.

Can you tell me what humans are going to evolve into and how long that will take?

I think women are more prone to want to be caregivers than men, who are more likely to want to be dominant (which naturally makes them more productive bread winners).

That COO of Facebook has a good book on it. She seems to agree, and sites that is why women make less then men and are less likely to be C-levels. I think it is largely psychological steaming from the biological, and has then formed the social norms that we are used to. Right? Wrong? I don't know. I don't believe recognizing this, however, says that women are unable to serve in the same capacity as a man, or that a man can't serve in the same capacity as a women. It is just less likely.

                              Are you an idiot?

That's hardly proof of an ancient Roman abortion industry. If anything, a few elites made use of the practice.

And even then... 2 million years of human evolution... 2,000 years ago still represents "very recent"

Well, not if you happen to believe the Earth is 6,000 years old, I suppose.

Evidence of abortion dates back thousands of years - it wasn't always as safe and reliable as it is now, but it still happened.
