He just picked a poor time to do his shtick. This bombing and the images of it are particularly horrific and disturbing. We're all reacting to it in our own way. If I were to guess, I'd say MrFun is expressing his grief by focusing on trolls related to social justice issues with varying degrees of relevancy.

Personally, I find the hairy gay man pics in the other thread to be more disturbing. But that's just personal preference.
