Would it be unconstitutional for the federal government to ban access to electronic media?Originally posted by dannubis View PostWould it be unconstitutional to ban ammunition ?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Not really. The question is stupid and you should feel bad for asking it as the answer is obvious. Yes, it would be.Originally posted by dannubis View PostSo, the original question remains...I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

But you couldn't give me a serious explanation of why (not).

Hint: "It doesn't fit in my agenda is not a valid one".

So now why don't you go play the "I wanna ***** about obama boat song again" on your banjo ?"Ceterum censeo Ben esse expellendum."

The onus is on those seeking to take away or curtail the rights of the people to explain themselves not those wishing to be left alone by the government.Originally posted by dannubis View PostBut you couldn't give me a serious explanation of why (not).I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Good starting point, but incomplete argument as to why it would be unconstitutional. Ninth Amendment seems a good one to point at.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostThe onus is on those seeking to take away or curtail the rights of the people to explain themselves not those wishing to be left alone by the government. One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

It looks like Oregon is going to pass some much needed gun control measures as well. It's nice to see state and local officials at least carrying out the will of the people even if corrupt Republicans in Congress continue to block measures which get 91% approval ratings. Universal background checks (even for second hand purchases) gets a 91% approval rating in polls yet Republicans continue to block it because they are completely owned by the NRA who is itself completely owned and controlled by gun makers.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Indeed. The crazies in the hills are a dying breed as it actually costs a fair bit of money to buy land there so they're slowly getting gentrified out. The hippies in Portland pretty much run the show now.

Portland is an interesting but strange place with the second largest number of breweries in a city (it used to be the first but San Diego passed it ) and it is very pro-diversity despite being the whitest large city in America. It does have a unique culture all its own though which is an accomplishment given how culture has been so homogenized now days.
