Not my opinion, our founding fathers gave us the right and it is being infringed.
Your founding fathers gave you the right to own slaves and it was infringed.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

        reading is a skill:

        from the Heller decision:

the Second Amendment does not protect those weapons not typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes, such as short-barreled shotguns. [...] weapons that are most useful in military service – M-16 rifles and the like – may be banned

                more Scalia goodness:

Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited.
                sorry

                  and more:

We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms. [...] We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of “dangerous and unusual weapons.”

                    Wait! hold on.
you have slapped me hard and got my attention.

M16 are used by the military only, civilians are not allowed to own without very strict regulation.

The m16 is a true assault rifle.

Difference between m16 and ar15 is the full auto capability. I don't think that distinction is significant enough to protect AR15 in the long run... as the military seems to prefer training soldiers to semi or burst.

Whilst this isn't really a core issue with the gun rights argument, I think it ought to be noted that foreign nationals on holiday or working don't have the protection of owning a firearm because that is illegal...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Is Doc under some sort of delusion that guns have been banned? It wouldn't surprise me.
