Difference between m16 and ar15 is the full auto capability. Whilst this isn't really a core issue with the gun rights argument, I think it ought to be noted that foreign nationals on holiday or working don't have the protection of owning a firearm because that is illegal...You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
