Ben seems to have done an Elvis, left the building
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

He has mentioned it a few times. Doesn't mean he is using it like implied over though.

Par for the course. After getting called on his BS, he slinks off for a while, then comes back and pretends it never happened.

He made a whole big deal of repeatedly comparing his situation as a deaf kid in Canada to Jim Crow era treatment of blacks in the deep south in his Martin Luther King day troll threat about six weeks ago.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ben because, while not knowing exactly, I can imagine how difficult his experience may be at times.
Thanks, Sava. I was reflecting on things yesterday as related to some of the stuff I was busy with, but I'll be ok in the end.

And when I call him names, he's smart enough to know it's because I disagree with him. He doesn't get all whiny and emo like I kicked his dog down a flight of stairs.
So BK's cool in my book.
I consider you a friend, so fire away. Besides I make fun of you too.

Considering yesterday was Sunday, I have this thing called a *life*. Yes, I sometimes have very busy days like today and yesterday night.

He made a whole big deal of repeatedly comparing his situation as a deaf kid in Canada to Jim Crow era treatment of blacks in the deep south in his Martin Luther King day troll threat about six weeks ago.
Your objection to the comparison is that the two *aren't* the same, which is precisely why I made the argument in the first place. I make no apologies for it. Your disagreement isn't with what I said, your disagreement is with the facts and the evidence I presented. Arguing that I'm trying to 'score points', by arguing that yes, there are many similarities falls flat. Most people would accept that having a significant disability is similar to being black. Even in my pasty white bread northern Canadian town - there were more black folks than deaf folks. I counted maybe 5 children who had a similar disability to me in a town of about 80 thousand people. The problem isn't so much that it cannot be overcome, but the fact that people simply know nothing about it or how to work with it. We don't get 'after school specials' after all, and it's not a visible disability.

The other problem is this - I'm 100 percent verbal. I use zero sign. There are exactly no people that I know who operate on similar lines, so most of my whole life has been uncharted wilderness.

No argument there. I don't really remember what he used to be like, but I do think he used to be better. I'm pretty sure about that. I'm not a collectivist, but this whole forum has gone to hell really.
Erm. So you don't really remember what I used to be like, but you insist I must have been better?

Actually I don't know if better is the right word. Maybe you were being fake back then.

Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”

Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
I said I was busy, which is what I was. Had quite a few things to do.
