This is probably my favorite article from there, given how much cadre flips the **** out when someone doesn't have his reflective belt for PT (the trick of course, if you don't have your belt, is to get the road guard vest).

Last week when they ran a "Lost military absentee votes would have swung election for Romney" article there was a distressing number of people who thought it was serious.

Yes, I saw that. A lot of articles there seem to have that problem, like the one about the state senator going on a tirade about baby killing soldiers.

It's all pretty unedifying, as mentioned by others that know, there are strict rules against what is quaintly called fraternization in the war zones. So while young soldiers were following the rules in various FOBs and hellholes, where some of them were dying, their CinC was getting his rocks off.

Then we have the twins, those gals look like they have always relied on the kindness of strangers. Allen doesn't come out of this well either.

There may be yet more. You can bet people are writing in with stories because soldiers hate double standards.

Actually I quite agree with you- expecting politicians to be anything other than human is absurd, as any number of political biographies show- even the respectful kind.

I expect more of a person in charge of a nation's security apparatus than to act like a lovelorn schoolboy by falling for a honeypot and passing along classified information to someone we've learned maybe emotionally unstable.

First Christie now Petraeus. As a leader it used to be a prerequisite to have some balls rather than manchildling behavior.

I meant to imply that when crazy > hot, keep it zipped. Obviously, one must have an acceptable level of crazy when dealing with the fairer sex.

Sorry to have misunderstood, good sir. Your advice is sound.

Having worked with many attractive young women the poor judgement on display here is the main issue. As a rule, younger women who go after middle aged men a. have an agenda or b. have a problem. In both cases they should be avoided at all costs. Men that flatter themselves otherwise are fools.

I go to Thailand a lot and really notice the difference from when I was there as a young man. Now I'm just a walking ATM machine to those who show interest. I know it, and keep my hands clean. Sad though when you know.

In this instance, crazy is overwhelming hot. Asking for diplomatic protection because you are an honorary ambassador? Multiple times on multiple calls to 911 in a single day?

Then Petraeus's peach goes to her brother's home in the middle of the city, only a couple miles from where thousands of journalists work? What a great place to lay low...
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
