That's one of the twins, who was being threatened by the author that Petraeus was banging.

So, yeah, both of them are ****ing crazy.

You've gotta understand, the man was in Afghanistan. *****'s a little hard to come by. Being on deployment artificially pushes her way over the hot/crazy line.

Too bad about the inconvenience of the whole "married" thing.

The military probably has more infidelity than any other segment of America*. It's a combination of long deployments and the fact that half of the marriages are complete shams (or at least ill-advised), junior enlisted men just trying to get out of the barracks and pick up housing benefits.

*with the exception of Hollywood celebrities.

We're not talking about junior enlistees here.

True, but the long distance relationship issue isn't exclusive to them.

So what? Nothing about this makes it OK. It is reprehensible behavior by any standard, most of all military leaders building their careers around a code of honor.

By no means am I trying to suggest that infidelity in the military is a good thing.

If Petraeus's friends are to be believed, he didn't partake until he became CIA Director.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
