      Petraeus done?

      That's what she said.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

What's the point of being in the CIA if you can't stick your dick in anything that moves? Are you telling me that spy movies have been lying to me all this time?

That is who it was. Best line of the day, heard on the car radio, delivered with a straight face:
"She was officially embedded with him in the Middle East."

              Seriously.

Petraeus was the commencement speaker at my daughter's college graduation. 2010. I was not enthused going in, but his speech was inspirational, literate, interesting and compelling. Had the honor of meeting him. He's extremely intelligent, very insightful, and has had an amazingly broad education. An hour later, I was a huge fan and very thankful to have such a man at the head of our forces.

Today's news saddened me greatly. I like to think that he resigned because he is a man of honor. That's probably naive, but it's what I felt when I heard the news on my way home today.

What I heard is that the woman was a Major in the US Army Reserve.

So the administration recruited a woman to seduce him well in advance in anticipation of needing to fire the guy so he wouldn't make Obama look bad after the election?

Unless Congress lacks the authority to put him before the Committee now for some reason, it still makes no sense.

No. The implication is that the woman was merely the excuse for an ulterior motive.

I'm not sure if I believe that, really, but this does seem a little bit weird.

I heard she was a Benghazi counter-intel agent named Achmed.
