I heard that she's a Cambodian drug runner who was well-known in the Philippines as the pop singer Cha-Cha.

I've met Petraeus, his nickname is "the chameleon". I wouldn't put it past him to play away.

He has lots of enemies inside the beltway. They'll all be slipping their knives in and hoping he bleeds out. But since he is out of uniform now, might not matter that much.

It's not that simple. You are right. I haven't seen the story yet. Could be a wider scandal - a lot of US generals had their bed-warmers and "campaign wives", lol, this could be good!

She was able to access classified info via him, that's why he has to go. I do think this doesn't directly disqualify him from the job (in the sense that it hasn't updated my priors much about his competence) but you can't really publicly approve of a CIA director who leaked such info to his mistress.

He'll be fine. He's got enough money and his autobiography will sell like "50 Shades of Grey" now.

I thought this might widen, oh dear

The Pentagon is investigating its top commander in Afghanistan for "inappropriate" emails to a woman in the Petraeus scandal, officials say.

Apparently this lady Jill Kelley is a friend of the Petraeus family - I wonder which member of the family she is friends with...

This is going in all sorts of unexpected ways. Well, at least unexpected for me.

On the other hand, I did just rewatch Dr. Strangelove a couple of weeks ago.

Both of the women mentioned so far are relatively fit.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Here's a question: Is it remotely possible that Obama didn't know about the FBI investigation given that it started focusing in on Petraeus in late summer?
