    even catholics find Santorum creepy
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Which is why 2016 is someone else's to win.

American Catholics tend to vote Democratic anyway. I think Bush was the first Republican to win a majority of their vote in 2004, but otherwise it has gone to Democratic candidates.

Interesting tidbit: Romney doesn't appear to have done any better with Mormons than Bush did in 2004, both won them 80/20.

One does not underestimate the ambition of Hillary Clinton.

However, I think that it's possible that should Hillary be determined to run, Biden would step aside. In fact, I could see Obama and Biden having promised to clear the field for her in 2016 in exchange for Bill's non-stop stumping this year. I don't believe that happened, though.
Which is what I mean. Biden would step aside and Obama would make sure that happened. I'm sure also that if it was a Hillary vs. Biden race that Obama's organization wouldn't go lock step behind Biden but split in half (and that may be generous for Biden).

Regardless, Biden is no Obama and in a head to head, I think Hillary would be able to wipe the floor with him.

I have long suspected that Clinton has tacit permission to go for it in 2016 if she wants it.
Not believing her protestations. I expect her to step down from Secy State in 2014 to run her campaign.

Biden as Dem nominee is every Republican's 2016 wet dream.

Hillary's ego demands that she make another bid for the Presidency. Biden seems to have let his ambitions slip out on the campaign trail. And considering his political acumen, it's hard to imagine Cuomo, who is the Dem's best candidate probably, deciding not to run.

                    I agree. Easy GOP victory

But seriously that's one of the dumbest ideas ever. Why do you even like her so much?

We need to handicap the future elections somehow so that the wretched, battered Republican party can have at least SOME chance in winning.

In fact, if anything it is decreasing. I know a lot of young people who are very, very socially conservative. I am more socially conservative than my parents.

Social issues are firmly held beliefs on either side of the spectrum. It's clear that social conservatism did not turn off independents in this election.

You're assuming white people is some monolithic group. The suggestion is somewhat suspect as I suspect a large number of said persons with lack of colour voted for one Obama, Barak.

Why do you think it took her so damn long to realize she couldn't beat Obama in the primaries? It's not rocket science, gribbler.

Clinton is stepping down as SoS next year, she'd already said so.

It wouldn't matter. If the economy is doing well and Obama is viewed well, Biden would win.
