Anyone who has gone through the public school system and has any talent or competence at all knows that it's nothing more than a daycare system employing those who would otherwise be useless to society. People with talent learn on their own. If you want to be a future occupy protester like Gribbler, then by all means take part in the public school system whole heartedly and follow it up with a liberal arts major of some sort. If you have any common sense at all you'll realize that the people who are teaching these courses usually have no real world experience and couldn't get hired in a real job...and you're being taught by them. Yes, lets keep paying teachers more, I'm sure that will make them somehow more competent. Lets keep the system the same too so you have to go through 150 steps just to fire one of them.

The fact that you are so inclined to deflect attention from what the people who actually founded the country intended says it all. Didn't the US government give away huge quantities of land after the revolution? In those days land was better than cash.
