There's a difference between 'donation' and 'harvesting'. Donation implies that it is an act consented to prior the donation. Harvesting does not ask. It just takes.

My will specifies that I want whatever can be used donated, FWIW. So if one of you comes here and kills me, you'll be saving the lives of other Texas folks.

The abortions/invitro are already happening, no one is having an abortion just to get stem cells, so the question is do we throw away the stem cells or use them to help needy people. I see no difference between this and regular transplants.

Edit: I just saw Mike's post about how almost none of the cells come from abortions and instead they come almost exclusively from invitro.

The proper question Ben is how did the GOP block the research when they only disallowed federal dollars to the use of fetal cells and could do nothing about private funds and left public dollars open to the use of other sources of stem cells.

Because, as anyone who followed this already knows, the approved lines were useless because the cells can only divide so many times before they cease to be viable plus virtually all of them had become contaminated with bacteria and were no longer viable. I'm unsure how you view this post as dispositive of mine. I already said that they disallowed the use of public funds to experiment with fetal cells. Perhaps you can explain how this constitutes the GOP blocking cures.
