I know religion makes people do stupid things but religious people aren't completely impervious to reason. And of course we should pressure their government to hold them responsible.

I would consider anyone willing to RPG a diplomatic mission over a youtube video to be fairly impervious to reason.

you did bomb them, that's why the country is in the hands of competing groups of young armed men.

We did bomb Gaddafi's forces, something that I thought was a mistake then and still believe was a mistake.

Nobody apologized!! Seriously, quote this imaginary apology please. I know Romney has made it the fashion to just tell bare faced lies repeatedly until they become the story, but maybe you should aim your sights a little higher than that.

Walk into a theatre and shout 'FIRE!' at the top of your lungs. The government will obviously uphold your right to free expression. I'm sure their reaction will not amaze you.

It's time to put zombie Gaddafi in charge.

Criticizing mohammad is not shouting fire in a crowded theater, it is quite obviously protected speech. There is no justice in US supreme court history who would have said that it is not okay to criticize Mohammad in any manner you wish.

We should never have kicked him out in the first place. At least the country was stable and we didn't have to worry about it. He would have won easily if we hadn't bombed his tanks.

It would depend on where you were criticizing Muhammad, possibly.

The point was that freedom of expression is recognized as being tied to a certain level of responsibility. You may notice that the guy who made the film has rightly not been arrested by the authorities. You can be held responsible for something that you've done without it having to be a legal crime.

So we're supposed to believe the U.S. Embassy in Cairo no longer speaks for the Obama Administration? Apparently the 3:00 a.m. call finally came and no one was home.

                                This.

Too often we, unfortunately, link responsibility to "legal responsibility" and not moral responsibility. There is a far deeper level of responsibility than simply what is not illegal.
