I'm a poster on a (supposedly) international forum. How long am I expected to maintain a respectful period of silence and grieving?

I'm not limiting anything. I'm just saying that if you look at crime statistics in America, there are x number of mass shootings per year, and there's no obvious reason why those x shootings should be distributed evenly. So if you have two within two weeks, that's a statistical anomaly, and not necessarily indicative of anything. If there are x number of mass shootings per year, and you have 10x happen within two weeks, then you might begin to wonder if something spooky is going on.

Well, "reasonably certain" is an intentionally fuzzy criterion. If none of our regular posters have come on to say something in a day or so, I think that's enough. Personally, I don't care if the bodies are still warm if I have no direct connection to the dead. People die all the time, and why they die is interesting and important to me, but that they die is of no particular relevance.
