Jesus christ. The "progressive left" refers to a fairly rigid set of beliefs, and commenting on what those beliefs actually are is totally valid. "Christian" is everything from mormon to episcopalian, and commenting on "christian" is meaningless generalization.

That really depends on what your x, y, and z are.

You can accurately paint Christians in broad strokes: Christians beleive that Jesus died for our sins.

And inaccurately: Christians hate gay people.

You can accurately paint Democrats in broad strokes: Democrats believe in equal rights for gays.

And inaccurately: Democrats (or progressives) don't believe in free speech.

I had to talk to poor JR to find out that you'd even received it, which I did about 6 months after. JR then told me that you didn't want to accept the gift, which sucked for poor JR because he was relaying your messages to us.

If I find one, you'll say they're not mainstream by definition. But that's besides the point. Just because you disagree with how a person conceives of free speech does not mean that person does not believe in free speech. Additionally, believing there should be limits to free speech does not mean you don't believe in free speech. See: fire in a theater.
