Yes, the recession did hurt the work place participation rate numbers. That said, they're going up again which is a sure sign things really are getting better especially since it is going up even though so many people are retiring and existing the work force. It's going to be real hard to get it entirely back up though since the US population as a whole is aging and more and more baby boomers hit retirement age.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment

I love it how it matters now that it's got an upwards blip, and not the previous 4 years where it's been dropping.That said, they're going up again which is a sure sign things really are getting better especially since it is going up even though so many people are retiring and existing the work force.
