  • Face it, you were wrong, and the US is not in recession.
With food going up 3.5 percent a year and the economy growing at 1 percent a year, people are falling behind, and the situation is getting worse, not better.

    • Yes, the recession did hurt the work place participation rate numbers. That said, they're going up again which is a sure sign things really are getting better especially since it is going up even though so many people are retiring and existing the work force. It's going to be real hard to get it entirely back up though since the US population as a whole is aging and more and more baby boomers hit retirement age.

      • Unemployment rate down, and participation rate up. Good news.

        • The good news from this month's report, IMO, is the revisions to previous payroll numbers.

I love it how it matters now that it's got an upwards blip, and not the previous 4 years where it's been dropping. Anyways, 0.1 is a push.

114k and everyone is fawning over that? He needed 105k to keep up with population growth. That's a push as well. Basically nothing changed from this month to last month.

Yup, that's what he needed to do. Oh, why oh why didn't Obama go out and hire a hundred thousand more people. *sigh*

If he works hard, 4 years from now, we'll be exactly where we are now. Thrilling.

If only the Republicans in Congress wouldn't tie his hands behind his back...

Funny I don't see you mentioning the Senate that voted his budget down 99-0.

                            • Drownings would decrease unemployment.

True, but if the best he can do is tread water after 4 years, he's clearly not the answer.
