We were discussing this earlier. About 1 in 10 of those who are mothers under 14 are themselves under 12. He should have seen a few by now.

Uh, no. 1/10 of those who are <= 14 and have reached puberty are < 12. That doesn't mean 1/10 of those who are <= 14 and pregnant are < 12. Also, he's seen several thousand mothers, not several thousand mothers <= 14.

That's the fellow who picked up our article. I'd have to go through my files to pick up the exact date. I got a call from a friend who got me in touch with Andrea. We wrote the article together for the standard. It was their big featured article at the time. It got picked up by the National Post. We've been cited a few times later on, particularly for our research showing that sex selection abortion was primarily confined in certain areas of certain cities. We focussed specifically on Vancouver, but our editor at the Standard suggested we take a look at Toronto as well.

I wrote about half the article. Andrea wanted the byline to be her and me, but since I was (and am a freelancer), the Standard wanted their lass to get top billing. So we agreed to the 'with files from Sean Ollech', even though it was her files and I wrote the article!

I didn't mind at all, it was her big breakthrough and she's got a very good job working in Ottawa these days. Nice lady.
