Let's be charitable. He's just dishonest. Incredibly so. But he's not a moron.

Kentonio, path to prosperity is a budget proposal that outlines basic tax reform that even Obama has rhetorically agreed to, but it doesn't go into specifics. The proposed law itself does not have tax reform in it.

You don't like him because he says things you don't like. Now as for him supposedly being a moron... We'll just have to take that up with the Noble Prize committee. You really are a douche and an idiot.

So when you said it 'doesn't involve tax reform at all', that was actually incorrect?

Oh and just for fun, lets look back at some earlier Ryan..

On April 1, 2009, Ryan introduced his alternative to the 2010 United States federal budget. This proposed alternative would have eliminated the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, lowered the top tax rate to 25%, introduced an 8.5% value-added consumption tax, and imposed a five-year spending freeze on all discretionary spending.[26] It would also have replaced the Medicare system.[27] Instead, it proposed that starting in 2021, the federal government would pay part of the cost of private medical insurance for individuals turning 65.[27] Ryan's proposed budget would also have allowed taxpayers to opt out of the federal income taxation system with itemized deductions, and instead pay a flat 10 percent of adjusted gross income up to $100,000 and 25 percent on any remaining income.[28] Ryan's proposed budget was heavily criticized by opponents for the lack of concrete numbers.[29] It was ultimately rejected in the house by a vote of 293-137, with 38 Republicans in opposition.[30]

In late January 2010, Ryan released a new version of his "Roadmap."[31] It would give across the board tax cuts by reducing income tax rates; eliminating income taxes on capital gains, dividends, and interest; and abolishing the corporate income tax, the estate tax, and the alternative minimum tax. The plan would privatize a portion of Social Security,[32][33] eliminate the tax exclusion for employer-sponsored health insurance,[33] and privatize MediCare.[32][33]
Yep, Ryan certainly isn't a guy who cares about tax cuts..

I didn't say Ryan didn't care about tax cuts, I said that the law didn't involve tax reform. Also, Ryan doesn't want to cut taxes, he wants revenue neutral reforms.

Except for the part where it says income tax will be lowered.

Oh come on, don't be naive. He repeatedly and consistantly calls for social welfare programs to be gutted while simultaneously calling for tax cuts. You don't need to do any deep thinking here, he doesn't even bother to disguise his intentions.

Krugman won his fake Nobel for his work on international trade. There's no reason at all to think he's an expert on American tax policy.

Damnit kentonio, he will reform taxes to be lower. He will not cut them.

This is the talking point, please stick to it.

Income taxes will be lowered and loopholes removed, that's the entire point of revenue neutral reform. This means that big companies with lots of tax lawyers or rich people with lots of tax lawyers pay their fair share. You would like that, right?

                              Corporations pay income tax now?

Incidentally, if you believe that line about 'we'll lower income tax but get rid of loopholes and we'll make more money!' then I have a bridge in Alaska you might want to buy.
