By the way, I am allowed to say who the congressman was. It was Paul Ryan. Ryan claimed in the meeting that there was a deal in sight about 11 days before the deadline, but it was scuttled by the Democrats.

You really don't know much about Paul Ryan's plan do you? It cuts benefits to wealthy Americans, and actually doesn't involve tax reform at all. All it does is reduce handouts to the upper and middle class and implement a slight variation on vouchers in order to control costs. That's hardly leaving them to fend for themselves.
