Yeah, so basically Grant's strategy was "we have reserves". An effective strategy, obviously, but had Lee and Grant flipped places Lee would have been the victor.

Grant sure lost a hell of a lot of men fighting with 2-1 numbers and much better logistics.

Yeah, he'd lose a lot but he'd move them. The Confederates would counter attack and lose the same but unlike the north they just couldn't replace them. Then Grant would order his army to "move by the left, move by the left" (left flank the rebels and attack again) and it worked.

WTF does HC give a **** about the Army of Northern Virginia? It's not like they had any Jews in that Army nor would they even have allowed unsaved Hebrews in their Army simply because they didn't like Jews. Hell, they didn't even allow Irish Catholics in southern armies for half the war; it wasn't until the south was getting the floor cleaned by their faces and even then they didn't want Italians or "Spaniards". They only took Irish because there were a lot of them in the south and because Irish really look almost the same as British Americans. They still waited until they were hard up before they even let the Irish in though.

No, the rebs lost less than the yanks, if I recall correctly. Supposedly they were generally better soldiers.

The south fought pretty well all things considered. If only they'd fought for something that wasn't so ****ing horrendous.
