How much is that in real dollars, ie. AUD?

Oerdin would be smart to choose Alberta, however, as Texas is the only place in America worse than San Diego.

Philly is better than both San Diego and Texas, and at least has a proud history.

No it's not; at least not for median income earners. For median income earners the two tax burden is only two percentage points difference between the two states when you count up state and local taxes. If you make much more than median then California's income tax does hit you. If you think 2% is a vast difference then you don't understand what the word vast means.

Another thing not noted is from what I recall with my discussions with Sloww, Texas has obscenely high property rates compared to Alberta also.
Texas has some of the highest property tax rates in the country. Much higher than California.

I paid $20 for property taxes last year.

Do you know anything about Chromium deposits? Supposedly there's a lot of it around here and the Chinese are very interested. I'm sure it will be great for the scenery in the long run

Yeah because Texans don't talk **** all on their own.

Oerdin, take the job. You will be living Ghetto fabulous.

You going to Washington was fitting, Lonestar. Take Oerdin there.

There aren't a lot of Geology-related jerbs in DC. There are, however, a lot of defense contractor jerbs(which is why I moved here).

I live just a few miles from the woodlands. I don't think you will like it here. Everyone rides a horse to work. A must have is a big hat and gun when traveling. Too many racist to deal with. You will not like it here.

You will not like the desolate wilderness. That is why it is called "The Woodlands". It is way too hot and humid for tender footed people who like to drink frappuccinos. If you have dark skin you will be afraid to come out at night because of the roaming racist gangs looking for a lynching. You will not enjoy the fact that we have no indoor plumbing. You will not like it here Oerdin.

May want to try Austin. They are more civilized.
