    Hello, Mr. Pot.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Especially if they're after the pot! As a side benefit, if they happen to be carrying any pot when the rocket hits, you can probably get a nice buzz from the resulting charred/splattered remains.

Serious question: Why is Ron Paul being so blatantly ignored by the Faux News Machine? He placed a very close second in the Iowa vote-buying straw poll and basically never got mentioned.

He's been supporting most of the Tea Party agenda since before they existed. Plus, he's Texan.

          Obama probably will win.
          Unlikely.

The only president to win as low in the polls as Obama is right now, this far into his 1st term, was Truman. And he won by less than 34k votes nationwide.

          It's possible, but unlikely.

I know it's a small sample size but an incumbent president hasn't lost since Bush Sr. I wonder if the modern 24/7 news media and modern campaigning gives too much strength to incumbents. I'm just thinking about how the next few months will feature Republicans trashing each other more than Obama and that being in the public consciousness for months. That stuff wasn't around 20-30 years ago.
Obama's looking at potential primary challenges.

Do you really want to know, JR? I'll be more than willing to tell you why I wouldn't support Ron Paul, but it's got nothing to do with Faux News.

I don't really care who you support, Ben. Palin or Cain, I would guess. Fortunately, you don't have a vote.

If you or others would care to address the question I actually asked, that would be perfectly acceptable.

Yup. Even in the final days, when it was basically a fait accompli.
He didn't have a vote then, either.

                    Same answer to both.

He's not with the majority of the republican party or the tea party on some crucial issues. Which is a problem, because he's also the only one articulating the views of the Tea Party on other issues.

He'll show strong all through the election, but he simply can't win because he's missing these issues. He's weak on foreign policy and he's lukewarm on the social issues like gay marriage and abortion.

That's really all there is to it. There's no mystery or conspiracy wrt Ron Paul. Everyone knows him and what he's capable of doing, but winning the presidency or getting 50 percent plus one of delegates to vote for him isn't happening.

Palin or Cain, I would guess.
Yep, but Cain first. I like the man, I think he will make a great president. He's got a maths degree, isn't a lawyer. He's got the broad appeal to all the parts of the republican base. As more of the fringe candidates announce like Palwnety that they are out, I think he'll start picking up other folks.

Cain reminds me some of what I've seen in Coolidge, someone who doesn't have to be the centre of attention, and is comjfortable working in the backrooms to get stuff done. It's not all about him, like it is with Obama.

Was I wrong? Yeah, I was wrong. I thought America had more common sense than to elect Obama. I was right about Obama though.

Whether Paul has a shot or not, the simple fact is that he has been blatantly ignored in the reporting on the caucuses and debates. If he was rolling with Huntsman numbers, I wouldn't even notice. But the simple fact is, he finished second by a hair, and it was like he didn't exist.

Yeah, of course they're going to shut out someone who doesn't want to attack various middle eastern countries or get the federal government involved in social issues.

He usually wins every straw poll. It was notable that someone other than him won. It's like Tiger losing a small tournament that no one cares about that he usually wins every year.

Ron Paul is passive on gay marriage (it's a matter for states rather than the Congress), and he has a solid pro-life voting record. His foreign policy stance would dramatically reduce the deficit, and keep America out of stupid wars. That's all in addition to his A+ rating from the GOA, and his legalization position. Aside from his insane conspiracy theories, he's actually pretty solid.

That's why BK won't support him.
                                John Brown did nothing wrong.
