There is no substance to the claims, usually brought up by revisionist Afrocentrics, that the Arab conquest of Egypt changed the genetic composition of the country in any meaningful way. Culturally, the Egyptians were progressively Arabized but the actual conquest was not met with any significant change in the population.

I would wager the 1 percent of the population that does have a connection to Tut would be the Copts. Given the enormous changes in language and culture from Roman Egypt to the caliphate, I don't see any connection with the Roman Egypt and the Egypt that came later.

I actually think there is a connection between Egypt as a Roman province and islamic Egypt. Egypt has stayed in the same place. It has been up in the top right hand corner of Africa the whole time.
