The Arab conquerors of the 7th century numbered only a few thousand at most. They were, after all, Bedouins living in the desert. There is no substance to the claims, usually brought up by revisionist Afrocentrics, that the Arab conquest of Egypt changed the genetic composition of the country in any meaningful way. Culturally, the Egyptians were progressively Arabized but the actual conquest was not met with any significant change in the population.
I would wager the 1 percent of the population that does have a connection to Tut would be the Copts. And Albert, yes, a small number of people can have a significant genetic influence especially over 1500 years. See Bactria and the Greek Bactrian kingdom as evidence of the opposite influence (europe to Asia).

I think ancient Egyptians lived in Egypt until the end of ancient times. At that point in time they all suddenly ceased being ancient Egyptians and promptly turned into Egyptians. I hope this helps, Ben.

english people are spawn of bastard children of inbred royals who raped peasant women

and their "noble" lineage traces back to the inbred barbarous hordes that raped the royals of rome when it fell

rome was inbred peninsula spawn, greeks raped them

before that, egypt royal family raped

        so... DUH

Given the enormous changes in language and culture from Roman Egypt to the caliphate, I don't see any connection with the Roman Egypt and the Egypt that came later.

It would seem that at least some connection was preserved through the third intermediate period which is novel.

I actually think there is a connection between Egypt as a Roman province and islamic Egypt. Egypt has stayed in the same place. It has been up in the top right hand corner of Africa the whole time.

they need to make a game where you invade villages, kill the men and rape the women

i've probably murdered millions of video game soldiers, yet, i can't recall raping any of their women

my murder to rape ratio is seriously skewed

i feel like less of a man

                    i need a proper ratio

And your wager would be wrong. The <1% R1b1a2 in Egypt comes from recent mixing from British colonials.

But again, this whole topic seems like bull****:

                      From another article:

The researchers didn't evaluate the DNA themselves; they say they made their findings "with the help" of a film made for the Discovery Channel.

What, the fact that Ancient Egyptians have nothing in common with the people hwo live there now?

He's saying the claim that King Tut had a R1b1a2 chromosome is bull****. That was the topic of the thread. Even if he did you couldn't reasonably make any conclusions about the genetic profile of ancient egyptians from a sample size of one ancient egyptian.

Why not? That's standard operating procedure. Find a single bone, and you've got Java man.

The only reason why Albert and you are pissed is because this runs contrary to your belief that those who are there now are exactly the same as they were before.

Gribbler, this isn't just one person. We'd see this throughout the Egyptian royal family.
