He was a dolt to think that an Islamic name was any less a slave name then a European Christian name. Arab slave traders and invading armies were just as much slavers when they invaded Nubia, Ethiopia, and the east African coast. Different slavers, yes, but slavers none the less.

Arab-East African trade relations weren't exclusively centered on the slave trade, unlike Portuguese/Dutch-West African relations.

And for something more relevant to him, why don't you explain the spread of Islam in West Africa then?

Oh wait. You're the guy who made **** up in that thread about Civ5 concerning Songhai. Images and accounts of West Africans being anything more than guys in loincloths with spears didn't jive with your sense of the proper placement of the races

      • Slavers who sometimes trade other things are still slavers so an Islamic name is just as much a slave name as a Christian name is or do you think Europeans didn't trade with Africans? In fact the slave trade was extremely profitable for several African kingdoms because European hardly ever actually went into the interior to catch slaves themselves and instead Africans warred with other Africans, took slaves, and then traded those slaves for European manufactured goods. The same dynamic was often at work with Islamic nation vs non Islamic African nations.

Just give up Albert Speer because you are wrong as always.

All your talk about the slave trade being profitable for African kingdoms is not only irrelevant but I did not contest it. Is this what you do? Move goalposts and declare yourself the winner?

I already explained to you the relevant difference between Christianity and Islam that colored Malcolm X's conversion to, initially, a false version of Islam, and then to Sunnah. Does your brain not work properly and you somehow missed it though I said it repeatedly?

To explain why he chose Islam, I'll use his own words,

"I am a Muslim, because it's a religion that teaches you an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. It teaches you to respect everybody, and treat everybody right. But it also teaches you if someone steps on your toe, chop off their foot. And I carry my religious axe with me all the time." - Malcolm X, "Homecoming" speech, Nov. 29, 1964
