In all seriousness, first cousins are probably genetically removed enough that there shouldn't be any reason they ought not to have kids except for societal taboo.

If it actually had a big impact on society, opposite of what the gay rights community claims, then it would actually be an important issue in my mind. 1. New York finished its budget on March 31, since NYS has an April 1 Fiscal year.
2. Same Sex marriage was literally the LAST issue voted on in this half of the session. Prior to voting on Same Sex marriage the NYS legislature held votes on a new power plant siting/green jobs bill, the creation of a tax cap, an extention of the rent regulation laws in NYC, and changes giving some of the State's University centers more autonomy while approving a $1500 raise in tuitions over the nest 5 years.
3. For many in NYS, this was the MOST important issue to come up, at least judging by the people calling the office I work at (which is the office of one of the legislators that got to vote on this issue).
