My point being was that it was reported that the protesters were throwing stones and kept advancing despite having warning shots fired over their heads and teargas being used. What did they expect would happen at that point. An escalation was necessary. Now whether that escalation was over the top is subject to debate, but after using all the non lethal methods first and having them ignored does limit the options. They are very good at forcing Israel into these no win situations. It is good to see that many people in Israel are debating the rules of engagement in these types of circumstances. To say the protesters were blameless is a bit of a stretch.
