Actually yes an autistic obsession with racial science is indeed right up the alley.Originally posted by gribbler View PostOr an autistic obsession with race?
I never said I was exempt of annoying traits, though lord one can hope can't he?Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

I wouldn't expect otherwise (not meant disrespectfully). However I do state historically speaking and even today this is a very Eurocentric (dare I say "White"?) way to identify oneself.Originally posted by KrazyHorse View PostMy tribe is people like me. Many/most of them are not white.
Most of humanity still lives in societies where klan/kin and religion is the normative way to identify oneself or one's tribe.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Their IQ scores aren't that low.Originally posted by gribbler View PostNo. I have no idea why you think they're stupid. Maybe too much slavic admixture?Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

My cousin moved to Belfast because she felt attached to her Irish heritage...and her Protestant friend received a death threat for living in a Catholic neighborhood. I'm inclined to agree with KrazyHorse here.
So maybe stupid isn't the right word, but I can't say I agree with her judgement.

What does that graph have to do with graduation rates, which was what was being addressed? You make a snarky joke about me living in the 1970s (which makes no sense, since black dropout rates were much worse then than now), but you provide a graph from 1995? Really?Originally posted by Heraclitus View Post
Your racism is showing. You butt in with a graph to try and prove black people are more stupider when that isn't even what I was discussing.Last edited by Boris Godunov; May 12, 2011, 02:33.Tutto nel mondo è burla

Sure. There's no difference in outcomes of education between schools that are overcrowded and underfunded and schools like HC's. Keep believing that.Originally posted by Felch View PostNo, underfunded schools don't have anything to do with it.
I'm not talking about charter schools, I'm talking about instances that were made to improve the quality of education at inner city public schools via reduced class sizes, improved curriculum, offering more individual instruction and attention, etc. How are these "self-selecting?"Those examples of inner city kids rising up through special schools are generally self-selecting populations. Ambitious kids with parents who give a damn try to get into the best charter schools.
Is it? Most jobs that require only a HS diploma these days are also open to those without them (and I by that I mean that more and more jobs are requiring AA degrees at the very least). Getting into college with a piece of paper from a HS that isn't well-regarded isn't particularly easy either, and then there's the whole issue of them even being able to *afford* to go to college. If one's expectation is to not go to college because no one can pay for it and they're gonna be needed at home anyway by getting a crap fast food job to help pay for family expenses, that's not going to help with motivation or ambition while in high school. "Hey, I get the paper, and then it's off to McDonald's so I can help mom pay the electric bill... Wait, I can work there now. **** this ****."What do you even mean about graduating High School not improving their lives? I agree that they're not learning a damn thing, but even having the piece of paper is beneficial.
That's just one scenario among many possible, but I've never seen any evidence of "Graduating is so WHITE, so I'm not gonna do it..."Tutto nel mondo è burla

Has anyone made that joke yet, because I can't be bothered reading the whole thread?
