Apparently Travis is a dry county. Who knew?

Tell me that those statutes are NOT a result of what I would term "religious idiots".
You can buy booze 24/7 at HEB. I'm just not seeing the problem here. Up in PG, you can't buy liquor except at the liquor stores. And they have the same/similar restrictions and regulations.

Is Canada a haven for religious idiots?

No, smart people can be rewarded for the value of their skills. They don't need to take advantage of others.

        Are you being facetious?

If you're being serious, I suggest you drive down to Spec's and attempt to go in and purchase, well, anything. On a Sunday, you won't be successful, due to statute not choice.

Are you saying if I go to the HEB that they won't let me purchase booze on a sunday? HEB!= Specs.

I am saying that TEXAS LAW says that liquor stores cannot be open on Sunday. TEXAS LAW also says grocery stores can't sell beer and wine before noon. TEXAS LAW also says that bars and restaurants can't serve alcohol before noon unless the patron also orders food. There is NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that those laws are both based on and instigated by religious ****heads. You can't possibly deny that.

In Canada, the same regulations exist, except you can't buy liquor in grocery or convenience stores at all. Is Canada a Jesus Freak nation?

It's not the religious idiots, it's the same communist control freak nanny staters.

The alcohol laws in the South originated with the Christians. That is indisputable.

I was a Mennonite, and they are totally against any consumption of alcohol. They also were conscientious objectors, etc. They wanted the state to stay away and leave them be.

Most religious folks just want to be left alone rather then telling people how to live their lives.

                    Communists on the other hand?

Why then is Texas, which is much more religious than Canada have far broader laws? I don't understand this at all. If it's the religious folks, shouldn't they be tighter here?

Is liquor sold in grocery stores? I didn't think they sold liquor. Probably the town where I live.

Slowwy, it's no liquor, no alcohol at all in grocery and convenience stores in Canada. Up until fairly recently in BC it was government owned liquor stores only.

If that were true there wouldn't be so many blue laws.

Green is the new blue. It ain't religious folks banning lightbulbs or ethanol free gasoline.
