  • Your article specifically states you are wrong.

    Your claim:
I didn't realize that this action froze player's bankroll. That's bull****.
    From your article:
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara of the Southern District of New York, however, said in a statement that "no individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained."

      • I imagine it would be difficult to access one's money when the sites were down. Unless one used a phone to call, but who uses a phone to talk? Hence the release of the sites to facilitate returning the money.

Pokerstars'/FT/.etc. bank's accounts were frozen. However, the players did not have frozen accounts. So in theory, you could still get your money back through other streams.

However, pokersites are not financial institutions. This means that you don't deposit money in an account. You give them money, which you play with. And maybe you'll get it back if you ask for it. But it's not an account, it's a debt. Which means, if Pokerstars goes belly up, you can kiss your money byebye.

The software does not connect to a www website. Also there was the .co.uk backup website.

                • BK, it has been pointed out to you that Blue Laws go back to the Colonial days. You can't claim that the Communists are to blame - Communists didn't even exist back then. You may try to argue that Communists are responsible for continuing Blue Laws - that's still a silly argument, of course - but you can't argue that the origins of Blue Laws were based on anything other than religion.

If anyone had bothered to read the article, a representative of Poker Stars speaks of player's money being totally separate than funds which run Poker Stars. Not a debt, a separate account.
It also says, and I quoted it, that it may take some time, as in weeks.
Finally, I'm not faulting the game sites, I'm faulting the interference by government authorities.

                      • There's a difference between what they say and what's true. Balance is debt NOT deposit. Trust me on this one, I frequent the major poker forums.

Actually I think it's because he's sensitive to mainstream Christianity being maligned in popular culture and the media. But then again, if the shoe fits....

What do you think the difference between a debt and a deposit is, you idiot?

I agree with at least 2 of those. Try and figure out which two!
