  • As it should be.

    • Raise your hands if you think it ironic that a thread about gun control should turn into a catalogue of police abuses.

      • Police can abuse guns, just like regular people do.

Americans think the solution is more guns.

Raise your hands if you understand why this is crazy.

          • I think the solution is more guns because the police took fifteen minutes to get to my house.

Would you be as scared if you knew the chance of the intruder having a gun was virtually nil?

If that was true, all you'd need is a bat or knife to scare him off -- not a gun.

Why would any sane person want to take that chance?

                          • Guns are never an equalizing force. They are simply escalating forces.

What're the odds an intruder will shoot you if you're unarmed vs if you're pointing a gun at them?

                            • You see this all the time with cops shooting people too.

A guy was shot & killed by cops outside of Calgary last week because he took out what was a very realistic-looking fake gun when the police tried to arrest him.

If he didn't have a gun -- even the if it was a fake one -- he'd not have been shot. Escalating force.
