There's not a single person in the entire Israeli government who is intelligent. I've never seen a government consistently do so many stupid things without a thought to long-term consequences.

What the hell? Go read about "Siege of Beirut" and "1982 Lebanon War" on wikipedia. Israel shelled and bombed the city of Beirut for 10 weeks. They launched an amphibious invasion of Sidon, as well. They curb-stomped Lebanon and nowhere was safe from Israel.
